Strength and conditioning (S & C) for sport has seen a huge surge in popularity over the last few years. For any serious athlete, whether amateur or professional, a professionally designed gym based program is now seen as essential.
While most athletes have embraced the role that a well designed S & C program can play in improving their sports performance and keeping them healthy, many of them have taken to leisure centres or the internet for their information. For these and a number of other reasons such as under-qualified trainers, poor quality equipment, or unsupportive training environments many of them end up doing ineffective and/or dangerous training programs that offer no real long-term sports performance benefits.
It’s essential that athletes follow programs that are specifically designed by qualified and experienced sports S & C coaches for their particular sport and individual circumstances and not generic fitness programs provided by themselves, the internet or uneducated coaches. This will allow them to make the best use of their time in the gym and perform optimally within their sport.
This talk is designed to educate athletes how to become the best athletes they can be and perform optimally within their sport.
There are many important aspects that need to be taken into account when doing this and we will show you how our training philosophy, programs and support structure can help you to achieve them as effectively as possible.
A big focus of the talk will be on developing the sports performance pyramid. This is one of the most overlooked aspects of sports training yet it is one of the most important.

As well as talking about the importance of the sports performance pyramid, we will also explain how our athletic development programs combine all the tools, training concepts and support necessary into a fluid system that is geared toward developing each aspect of the pyramid including:
- strength
- Lifestyle factors- sleep, nutrition, posture, etc.
- Lean mass to fat ratios
- recovery
- power
- core control
- Posture
- mobility and flexibility
- Endurance
- Joint stability
- speed
