Steve’s Note: Jackie always comes into the gym with a smile on her face but also ready for action. She has seen massive improvements in her overall health and fitness. She trains 3 times per week and recently increased to 4 sessions per week which has seen Jackie make huge improvements in both fat loss and strength gain. Jackie has been hampered by injuries in the past but through her commitment and dedication to training has gained control of her body again. She hopes to start playing tennis again which through continual hard work will no doubt come. The way Jackie trains hard and made the gym a pillar of her life she has been rightly deserved the title of Client of the Month for December 2014. Well done Jackie!
Coming into the gym I had a history of injury and pain. I had four operations (3 on my knee and on my Achilles also). I was forced to quit Tennis, which I love and as a result gained weight and my confidence dropped. I suppose I joined Steve McGrath Health and Performance to add structure into my life again.
I was walking everyday and eating well but I missed the training element. I missed the buzz of competing and at Steve McGrath Health and Performance the environment is perfect to continually better yourself.
Since joining 9 months ago I have lost weight, I have gotten much fitter and active and I have my confidence again. One of the biggest results I have seen is with my knee.
For years I felt imbalanced with regard to my knees as one always felt as if it was compensating for the other but now I have much more confidence in its ability again. I hope to soon get back playing Tennis and continue with my gym training.
I know my level of fitness is returning and my knee is gradually improving every week. I feel a lot stronger in my body and mind and I know the future is bright and I’m in a better place training.
The atmosphere is always great. Everyone is always so welcoming and encouraging which makes all the hard-work worthwhile. I have to thank Steve, Duncan and Adam for the encouragement and help they gave me. They all do a great job which only adds to the atmosphere.
Susan also is fantastic with her welcoming smile and words of encouragement.
I found the resources very helpful and in particular the food diary. By doing something very simple it pays big dividends. Writing in my food everyday encouraged me to eat a bit more healthy each week. We all need goals in life and achieving them is such a massive boost.
I would encourage anyone who is thinking about joining Steve McGrath Health and Performance to not think anymore but just DO IT! The hard work does pay off and you will get your life back on track.
