Dor has been training with us for 10 months and in that time has completely re-built her relationship with healthy living, good nutrition and enjoyable, consistent exercise.
The difference in her confidence, mindset, and general happiness is massive and a direct result of her efforts and willingness to listen and take action.
Like anyone who takes massive action to improve their quality of life, Dor had a few big hurdles to overcome on her journey. Finding the drive to overcome these obstacles meant she had to get clear on her big reasons ‘WHY’ for changing her situation then decide whether it was a goal worth chasing.
Dor had gotten to a point in her life where she wasn’t taking care of her personal health, fitness and wellbeing needs.
She was eating too much junk, felt weak due to doing zero strength, core and posture work and had little-to-no energy .
Little things were getting to her as she didn’t have a pro-active outlet for them.
“I really wanted to get stronger as I had only been walking for exercise and wanted to step my health and fitness up a level.
I had been a smoker all my life and took up walking as a way to keep my mind engaged after I decided to quit (Steve note- well done Dor on quitting- your body will thank you for that over the next few years!!)
The walking got me started but just wasn’t delivering the results that I wanted such as making me feel stronger, building my core and shaping and toning my figure in the places I wanted. I just wasn’t getting the results that I wanted.
I also really wanted to start taking care of myself so that I felt better within myself. Being a mother I wanted to start being a better role model for my kids, take care of myself so that I can be around for them and just be healthy to enjoy life.
To achieve my new goals I really needed more accountability and support. I had heard about Steve’s gym from a few friends so I got in contact to see if they could help and when they said they could I decided to get started.
Honestly, getting started was a whole turning point in my life with regard to my health. Form day one the support has been great from all the coaches and other clients.
Life has just gotten better in so many ways. On a daily basis I have much more energy, every day tasks at home and at work are so much easier and I just feel so much better about myself.
Stupid little small things that would have affected me before don’t seem as big anymore
I had tried other gyms a few years ago but they just weren’t what I was looking for but the set up in Steve’s gym suits my needs perfectly.
The big difference for me is the accountability and support. I find the blogs, emails, etc. great and also the fact that all the information seems very real and practical.
Also, the hands-on coaching during the sessions is something I never got from other gyms.
Consistency has been one of the biggest keys for me. It’s something I struggled with at the start but once I took this seriously with regard to my food and exercise the results I saw were just huge with regard to my strength, energy and fitness.
At the start I had all the excuses not to turn up such as I’m tired, I’m too busy, I’m not in the mood, etc. but once I accepted that everyone else in the gym could easily have those excuses it just clicked for me and I just made the decision.
I really had to make that decision for myself and I’m really pleased that I did. Getting consistent has made such a huge difference to the results I’ve seen in my clothes, strength, fitness, etc.
I never dreamed I would ever have the strength to do a single push up but I can now do 29 in a row and I’m now training for my next goal which is my first chin up!!!!!!!
Because the environment is so supportive and everyone helps each other to overcome the challenges of everyday life, my confidence has massively improved due to feeling so welcome.
Everyone has great fun, I love the support the coaches provide and everyone wants to see everyone else succeed.
I find all the online blogs, emails, website, Facebook, etc. great for keeping my on track and supported when I’m not in the gym.
Just like work, weekly shopping and everything else, my exercise routine has become a part of my normal life. It’s only a few hours each week but the payoff has been huge for me.”
We asked Dor what advice she would give to anyone who is looking for similar results:
“It’s just the way to go. You mightn’t realise it now but it will change your life if you commit to it- Just go for it- you won’t be disappointed.”
