Giving yourself the best possible chance of having the quality of life that you want relies on you taking responsibility for doing a few key things over and over.
Depending on where you are currently at with your health and fitness you might find some of these guys very challenging and thats ok. All you have to do is get to work on them.
Over the past few months we have seen a good percentage of our clients take huge strides forward in the way they live their lives and this is a quick review of what you need to be working towards if you want to do the same.
Remember, a great quality of life allows you to have far superior life experiences and family/friend relationships than a poor quality of life ever will.
In fact, a poor quality of life will rob you of these amazing things and if it is down to your own actions or inactions (eating too much shit, sitting on your ass, smoking, etc.) then that is one of the saddest things possible because you won’t get another chance.
There’s no ‘LIFE- EPISODE 2’.
Build the health and fitness habits that are required and the life experiences that you receive in return will long after your latest gadget stops working.
Here we go, a few of the basics for having the best quality life possible (in no particular order):
Why do you need to get fit?
If you’re seriously asking why you need to get fit then you’re in the wrong place. Everyone knows that they need to get fit. We’re not living in the 1950’s where information wasn’t available. The jury isn’t out on this one.
The more we entertain people asking why you need to get fit the more we feed into the problem.
I just googled WHY DO I NEED TO BE FIT and got 679,000,000 hits.
People don’t need more information. What they need is more action.
Get off your ass and get fit- and no, you’re not to busy.
Smoking is a disgusting habit that you need to smash the fuck out of.
It’s a life guzzling habit that costs you a fortune, makes you feel like shit, robs you of so much quality time with your family and friends and simply prevents you from making any decent progress towards a better life.
I’ve lost count of how many people tell me they can’t even have a game of football with their kids because they of the pressure they feel- MADNESS!!!!!!!!
And if you often tell yourself the story that you can’t afford to get fit and eat better but you can afford to smoke then you need to re-assess your life priorities.
I know plenty of people who’ve gone from 40 to 0 over time so you saying you can’t give them up isn’t a valid excuse. It might be hard but if you really wanted to quit and you put all your resources into the task at hand then you are well capable of quitting.
Bottom line is smoking has to go. You’ve no leeway with this.
MANAGE YOUR STRESS
I’m a big believer that you can’t completely remove all stress from your life but you can remove a lot of it and manage the rest.
Most people are under so much negative stress due to things that are completely of their own doing including:
- Eating shit
- terrible sleeping habits
- no hobbies
- hugely disorganised and at the mercy of chaos
- Massive imbalance between work, personal, social and family commitment
Again, unmanaged stressors rob you of so many things including your energy, health, time with family and friends, work productivity and free time to do whatever you want.
How do you get on top of it?
Start with the above and simply do the opposite and you’ll be well on your way:
- Stop eating so much junk food
- get a hobby
- 7-8 hours sleep
- exercise more
- stop smoking
- organise your week better
- Spend more time with your family and friends and a little bit less at work
STOP EATING SO MUCH SHIT FOOD
Again guys, I hope you don’t need for me to explain why you need to stop eating so much junk.
A google search just gave me 18,200,000 returns on WHY JUNK FOOD IS BAD FOR ME.
You need to stop talking about it and start taking action- 1 habit at a time.
There you go guys. A few basics that will help you on your way to living the best quality life possible.
Nothing magical there because you don’t need magic, you need action. Consistently.
4-12 months for most people to see big returns on their efforts so don’t quit after a week. IF you do it means you went about it wrong.
