NOTE FROM STEVE: Rachel is our very first class member to be awarded Client Of The Month. Rachel was the first person to join our large group class program and has the perfect attitude and approach to her training. She has been super consistent, listens to her coaches, fully engages in our community via social media, our monthly client workshops, client testing days and everything else that we provide. Rachel is a great example of making your health and fitness program a part of your life without it having to take over your life, a concept we are big believers in at Steve McGrath Health & Performance.
I originally joined Steve Mc Grath Health and Performance to improve my overall fitness, use workouts as a way to de-stress and enjoy feeling motivated again. Specifically, my goal was to tone up, get stronger and healthier overall.
I have always enjoyed being active but in the months prior to joining the classes I lost my motivation. I wasn’t training regularly and felt quite lethargic.
Through the variety of exercises provided in the classes, I am stronger, leaner and more motivated to further improve.
I have developed some very healthy nutritional habits as outlined in the nutritional template provided by Steve.
I now regularly drink a minimum 2 litres of water, eat protein with every meal and snack and get 8 hours sleep when possible.
I am stronger than I have ever been. I recently deadlifted 86kg, I am able to swing a 24kg kettlebell and benchpress 35kg. Previously, I did not deadlift, bench press was about 15kg and I did not use kettlebells in workouts.
I am also now leaner than I have been in years, am 5kg lighter than when I started six months ago and feel more focused overall.
I always suffered from tight calves, tight periformis and some neck pain. Following on from the FMS assessment, Steve provided me with stretches to assist me with warming up and tailored to my areas of weakness. As a result, I rarely have any pains now and on the occasion I do, I know how to stretch them accordingly.
I find the Facebook page, in particular the members-only closed group, very helpful. The recipes and the nutritional tips were are very comprehensive. I like to hear the success stories of other clients as it creates a sense of community.
The monthly client workshops have been very beneficial and I have always come away with some additional new piece of information I didn’t know before.
The nutritional journal was very helpful at the beginning and I received some great advice on how to change habits such as not trying to do it all at once. As a result, I have incorporated at least 6 good habits that are now almost second nature.
The level of coaching is exceptional. Every coach is extremely approachable, professional and inspires me to want to further improve. The attention to detail and individual attention received is something I have never experienced in a class setting before and is highly commendable. Every staff member is welcoming and creates a very inclusive environment.
I also like the focus on the holistic approach to further improvement. Over time, it has become even more obvious how lifestyle and nutrition cannot be separated from training if I am to achieve my goals.
Training times are very convenient and size of class is also great. The sense of camaraderie in the classes is also crucial in staying motivated and supported.
If you are serious about improving your health and fitness, don’t waste another day thinking about it!
